Madeline Island Chamber Music is pleased to reunite the Belle St. Quartet in Minneapolis for our Artist Residency October 28-November 1, 2019. The Artist Residency provides one of our summer Fellowship String Quartets with performance and community engagement opportunities in Minneapolis-St. Paul to give these talented student musicians a taste of life as a professional musician.
This year’s quartet consists of:
- Violinist Nathanael Levitt, a student at Oberlin Conservatory of Music originally from Colorado
- Violinist Allison Smith, a student at Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music originally from Ohio
- Violist Harris Bernstein, a graduate student at Yale University originally from Minnesota
- Cellist Belle Ra, a student at the Cleveland Institute of Music originally from Texas
The highlight of their week in the Twin Cities is performing at the Schubert Club Courtroom Concert at noon on Thursday, October 31. The quartet will also conduct workshops for elementary school students, lead a master class for a high school string quartet, and perform at a house concert.
The 2019 Artist Residency is funded in part by RBC Wealth Management.
