Filmed in the summer of 2018, Music From Madeline Island captures the daily life of our young musicians as they hone their craft. The program also explores the holistic approach to life at Madeline Island Chamber Music, including ice cream trips to the Island’s downtown area, frequent ping-pong games, and courses instructing musicians on wellness and injury prevention.

With music from Franz Schubert, Maurice Ravel, and a world premiere of a new composition from contemporary composer Caroline Shaw, the special also features interviews with the young performers, renowned professional string quartet Brooklyn Rider, and Madeline Island Chamber Music staff.

Madeline Island Chamber Music will host a live airing of “Music From Madeline Island” in July on Madeline Island.
